Fishman is Lone Acoustic Pickup Exhibitor/Sponsor at Crossroads Benefit Event
Star-Studded Guitar Festival Aids Clapton's Rehab Center in Antigua
Wilmington, MA - June 16, 2004 - A spectacular blues guitar summit for Eric Clapton's Rehab Center, the Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas, Texas featured stellar performances by event host Clapton, BB King, Buddy Guy, Carlos Santana, Jimmy Vaughan, J.J. Cale, John Mayer, Jonny Lang, and others, along with a Guitar Center mini trade show featuring Fishman as the lone exhibitor for acoustic pickups and amplification products.
 
Co-sponsored by Guitar Center®, SBC Communications, and Sirius Satellite Radio, the Festival was held in Dallas' Fair Park June 5th through the 7th, and benefitted the Crossroads drug and alcohol rehabilitation center founded by Clapton several years ago. The mini trade show for end users provided the ideal opportunity for 35 industry leaders, such as Fishman, CF Martin & Co.®, Fender®, Ibanez®, and Marshall® to exhibit their latest products to 40,000 musicians, guitar enthusiasts and hard-core blues fans.
Fishman displayed several of its groundbreaking new products: the Aura™ Acoustic Imaging Blender, the tri-amped Loudbox™ Acoustic Instrument Amplifier, and the just-released Ellipse™ Blend Soundhole-Mount Condenser Mic System, an upgrade to their top-selling Acoustic Matrix Series undersaddle guitar pickups.
Country Music Television used the Fishman booth to film a profile about up-and-coming new artist named Jedd Hughes, who played alongside Elvis Presley's legendary sideman, James Burton. Fishman representatives also discussed the Fishman Powerbridge™ and its integral role in Pete Townshend’s live performance gear as part of an interview about the history of the Stratocaster® documentary being made by Fender®.
The event provided three performance spaces for live music all day long, a variety of guitar clinics, and an all-star blues jam. It all culminated in an all-day concert in the Cotton Bowl topped off by a much-anticipated Clapton performance.
