November 23, 2004 - Wilmington, MA - Fishman recently hosted a factory tour and product demonstration for Will Ackerman, the multi-talented founder, producer and artist for Windham Hill Records. Accompanied by his playing partner, David Cullen, Ackerman had his custom-made Froggy Bottom acoustic guitars outfitted with Fishman pickups by acclaimed instrument specialist Tucker Barrett.

Will came to the Fishman factory in search of some new solutions for a variety of acoustic amplification challenges. Fishman set up a special demo of its Aura™ Acoustic Imaging Blender and its Loudbox™ and Loudbox™ Pro Acoustic Instrument Amplifiers, and Ackerman and Cullen were impressed with the opportunities that both present, and plan to take Aura on their upcoming European tour. Ackerman is a major supporter and promoter of acoustic guitar music worldwide and his choice of guitars and sound reinforcement gear is very influential on a range of acoustic players.

Originally a general contractor in Santa Clara, California, until the success of Windham Hill Records led to a full-time career in music, Ackerman recently recorded a new CD for Universal Records on his Mary’s Tree label. “Returning” is a collection of new recordings of Will's favorite solos. Ackerman also has a number of concerts planned after the release of his new CD and will again be part of the Windham Hill Winter Solstice Tour for the 2004/2005 season.

With a career spanning 30 years, Ackerman has produced Platinum and Gold Records worldwide for instrumental artists such as George Winston, Michael Hedges, Liz Story, Alex deGrassi and singer/songwriters Patty Larkin and John Gorka. He still works actively as a producer in his Imaginary Road Studios in Windham County, Vermont.
