Fishman SoloAmp "Best In Show" at Summer NAMM
Wilmington, MA (July 10, 2008)--The new Fishman SoloAmp Performance system won a NAMM University "Best In Show" award at this year's Summer NAMM Show in Nashville.
To determine the winners, six industry experts shopped the show, picked their favorite products and services, and presented those picks in five categories during the Sunday morning panel discussion. In the session's final round, each panelist selected his or her pick for the best product or service at Summer NAMM.
Commenting on the award, company founder and president Larry Fishman stated, "Being voted Best In Show is a great achievement and validates all of our hard work in developing SoloAmp. We put a lot of R&D into this product and we're pleased that it's been met with so much excitement and enthusiasm."
Discussing the SoloAmp, "Best in Show" panelist and Music Inc. Editor Zach Phillips stated, "I wish this existed when I was playing acoustically in coffeehouses and small clubs. It's an incredible sounding, single-unit P.A. system. It's designed for guitarists and singer-songwriters. It has great features like feedback suppression and three-band EQ, but for me, the most-impressive thing about this is that it takes advantage of line-array technology.
"The SoloAmp not only provides really wide sound dispersion to the audience but also eliminates the need for any kind of monitor," Philips adds. "I stood to the side while someone was playing, and it sounded almost as clear as it would to the audience. And it's extremely portable."
Those five "Best In Show" products or services included Fishman's SoloAmp, the company's first product introduced into the portable P.A. marketplace; Tama's StarClassic Bubinga Walnut Drum Set; Antigua Winds' A596-BNBK Baritone Saxophone; Edirol by Roland's R-09 HR WAVE/MP3 Recorder; Yamaha's AudioGram 6 and AudioGram 3 Computer Recording Systems; and Boss' SL-20 Slicer Guitar Pedal.
