Notice to all users of the Fishman Universal and Les Paul Rechargeable Battery Pack(s):
It has come to our attention that the battery in this product, if punctured, may represent a risk to the instrument or the owner. Although the product passed consumer safety testing in its current condition, and the risk is extremely small when the product is professionally installed, we believe that any risk is unacceptable. For that reason, we have made the unprecedented decision to RECALL all Fishman Universal and Les Paul Rechargeable Battery Packs shipped before June 20th, 2016. Note that this recall does NOT apply to the Battery Pack for Strat or the “Gristle-Tone” Signature Tele Set. Only the Universal and Les Paul battery models are affected.
If you own a product affected by this recall, we urge you to click the link at the bottom of this notice to begin the process of exchanging your battery for a model with improved puncture protection.
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that this recall reinforces the importance we place on product safety, the value we place on your trust and the premium we are willing to pay for continued excellence in acoustic and electric amplification.
RECALL: Fishman Les Paul and Universal Rechargeable Battery Packs: PRO-BPK-101, PRO-BPK-CA1, PRO-BPK-EU1, PRO-BPK-JA1, PRO-BPK-LA1, PRO-BPK-LJ1, PRO-BPK-LP1, PRO-BPK-LX1, PRO-BPK-UK1.
ISSUE: The recall is in response to a potential malfunction in the battery if it is punctured or damaged during or after installation.
The global recall involves Fishman Les Paul and Universal Rechargeable Battery Packs manufactured, serviced and distributed before June 20th, 2016. If you have any concern that your battery was manufactured during that period, but are not sure, please contact Fishman customer support for more information.
REMEDY: Immediately cease using the product.
RETURN: Customers in the United States and Canada may ship the product to Fishman by completing the information requested below and requesting a return shipping label. International customers can initiate the return process through the dealer where the product was purchased or by contacting their nearest international distributor.
