“My first introduction to Fishman electronics came in the late 90’s, I was allowed to try an innovative distortion pedal they made which had added a 5th above a note and with another switch you could add a 4th to your bass tone. From there I was interested and excited about what Fishman was doing for bassists. I knew of the amps and acoustic pickups but, while playing with Steve Vai , I was introduced to the first version of the platinum acoustic bass pre amp. At that time I was playing upright in the acoustic set with Steve. I was impressed with the range of tones I was able to get from my bass using the platinum. It gives me the ability to dial in or out any frequencies that I needed to work in any live situation. In the studio it is also a valuable tool for putting the bass in just the right spot in any style of music. The Fishman Platinum bass pre amp, if you’re playing upright bass, this is the must have tool to make your voice heard on any gig.”
